For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat." 2 Thessalonians 3:10 (TM)
As I travel through different call centers around the country, as I work with different companies and now as I run my own – I’ve noticed a distinct trend in the work habits of young people. Every employer I’ve talked to has seen the same thing. Young people expect big paychecks and rapid advancement, but they don’t want to work. We’ve given young people an unprecedented sense of entitlement, and it will come back to haunt us. The good news for young people like Taylor an Madison, is that they can quickly advance by differentiating themselves from their peers. Show up a few minutes early – stay a few minutes late – stay busy – find things to do if it’s slow – pitch in and help your co-workers – prove yourself responsible – do these things, and you’ll succeed.
Gosh, do I sound enough like Grandpa Vander Well, or what?
