What Great Daughters

XmasIt was a beautiful weekend here in the heartland. Sunday afternoon Madison invited friends, family and supporters to the church to view her slides from Thailand. Grandpa and Grandma VW came down from Des Moines for some spaghetti after church and we all headed ov
er.

Madison did a great job. We were really proud of her. She had over a hundred slides and had put together a well thought out presentation on PowerPoint. It was also great to hear a few stories for the first time, like the Thai pastor who saw Madison’s foot swollen from a nasty ankle sprain. Madison couldn’t wear her shoes, so the pastor offered his. Madison thanked him but refused. The next day the pastor got up in the wee hours to go to a bazaar and find a pair of shoes for her!

Speaking of being proud of our daughter. Taylor is working TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) weekend next weekend and giving the first talk of the weekend. She previewed it for the leaders and adult workers a week ago. One of Wendy’s co-workers was there and told Wendy what a great job Taylor did – how composed she was. Taylor made her cry 🙂

What a blessing to have two beautiful daughters who love God and serve Him (and who would probably kill me for posting that picture if they ever read my blog!)
