Such God-denying people are never content with what they have or who they are; their greed drives them relentlessly. Job 20:20 (MSG)
The further I travel in the journey, the more I realize the power of contentment. Raised in a consumerist society, I am programmed to be discontent. I'm driven to want that which is bigger, better, newer, and faster. I am seduced into believing I must have that. I must have the latest "G3" only to find out that "G4" is being released next week. It's a never ending cycle that ends up with me living like a gerbil running on his little wheel and going absolutely no where.
The good times of the wicked are short-lived;
godless joy is only momentary.
It seems the opposite sometimes. As Christians we feel tethered to our morality and at times feel like we are really missing out on what the world is serving up. The world tells us that if it feels good do it, but Zophar reminds us that the pleasure is short lived. Good reminder today.
