Chapter-a-Day 2 Corinthians 2

FragranceBecause of Christ, we give off a sweet scent rising to God, which is recognized by those on the way of salvation—an aroma redolent with life. But those on the way to destruction treat us more like the stench from a rotting corpse. 2 Corinthians 2:15-16 (TM)

When going on site with a client, one of the prayers that I pray is to be the "fragrance of Christ." I want people to immediately sense the presence of Jesus in me. Just like when someone passes by you in a public place wearing a scent and you react with an "Mmmmmmm, what was that?"

The reality is, I smell. We all do. We walk into a room and people immediately catch a whiff of who we are and what we’re about. When they interact with us they catch a stronger scent of our person, our thoughts, and our motives. So, what is it they smell? Do they smell the fragrance of Christ or the acrid scent of my selfishness? Do they pick up on the aroma of grace that has saved me or that rotten smell of my sin?

You smell. The question is, what will you smell like today?
