Praise God, everybody! Applaud God, all people! His love has taken over our lives; God's faithful ways are eternal. Hallelujah! Psalm 117 (MSG)
I was never one for long books. Back in high school I would scour the library for the shortest books to read for book reports in English class (hint to students: Of Mice and Men, Jonathon Livingston Seagull and Ayn Rand's Anthem were a few staples on my reading lists). I figured, just because a book is long doesn't make it good. I still believe that some lengthy tomes are seriously more useful as paperweights or crafty enterprises like pressing flowers.
As I got older (and possibly more mature) I discovered the joy of reading, and I've learned the value of longer books. Nevertheless, I've never lost sight of the fact that incredible truths are often best expressed in the shortest and most simple terms.
I love that Psalm 117 is only two verses.
Sometimes a minimum number of words are all that is required to express maximum truth.
AMEN!
His love has taken over our lives;
I want this to be true for my family and I. If Christ’s love can encompass our lives and manifest itself to others, that is what I desire.
