Would the current President qualify as an elder who is good? Put another way, would Titus have selected him?
Given my understanding of the first century believers, I don’t believe he would’ve cut the mustard as an elder (not sure I would have, either). By the late 4th century when the Jesus movement became the Holy Roman Empire, he could’ve purchased himself the Papacy or any other position in the church.
