The Long Haul

Thanks to those who said a quick prayer yesterday for me and our ol’ blue pickup truck, Tabitha. I hopped in Tabby at 5:00 a.m. and headed to Minneapolis to move Madison back from her first year of college. My friend, Kevin, blessed me with his help and presence. I swung by Ankeny and picked him up and we cruised up I-35. Tabby is 20 years old and occasionally shows her age by throwing a fit (like refusing to start or stalling unexpectedly as you’re driving down the road). Yesterday, however, fueled by prayer she spun like a top.

We arrived in the Cities mid-morning and Madison treated Kevin and me to breakfast at Al’s Breakfast. With Kev’s help we quickly loaded all that she’d brought with her nine months ago (Along with, ahem, a few more things she’d accumulated ;-), and were on the road south shortly after 11 a.m.

Other than a few spotty showers, the trip back was uneventful. Madison is going to be a live-in nanny again this summer with the same family she nannied for last year. So, we moved her things in to her summer home and I was back at Vander Well manor in time for dinner.
