Chapter-a-Day Luke 17

Cleansing of the ten lepers

Jesus said, “Were not ten [lepers] healed? Where are the nine? Can none be found to come back and give glory to God except this outsider?” Then he said to him, “Get up. On your way. Your faith has healed and saved you.” Luke 17:17-19 (MSG)

Ten things for which I’m thanking God this morning:

  1. An amazing wife and life partner I get to kiss backstage
  2. Loveable, valuable, & capable daughters who, daily, make me proud to be their father
  3. A loving family (who get along & love one another)
  4. Daily phone calls with Kevin
  5. Coffee and conversations with Chad and with Matthew
  6. A job I love, that fits me, with a great team of co-workers
  7. Getting to be involved with the stage
  8. Playing bass in worship
  9. Quiet nights at home with a glass of wine
  10. Quiet mornings and coffee with God

What about you?

  1. 1. The unconditional love of God.
    2. The unconditional love of a good and Godly man who has won me over patiently and gently.
    3. A Godly family that exemplifies 1 Corinthians 13.
    4. A phenominal and unified church family.
    5. An intelligent mind that God reveals His mysteries to little by little.
    6. The peace and security of Matthew 6:33.
    7. A best friend with whom I can share things that I can’t with anyone else.
    8. A beautiful world that I’ve been fortunate enough to travel in.
    9. My voice.
    10. A mother who doesn’t let me treat her the way that you often see on TV and in movies, both for her sake and mine, even in those rare moments I’m brazen enough to think I can.

There are many times that I am like the “other nine”. I get on my knees to request something of God, He answers it, and I move on feeling very good about myself. I forget to get back on my knees to glorify and thank Him. This is a great reminder for me today.
