Seasons Change

The changing of the seasons became abundantly clear this weekend in multiple ways.

The weather is changing. It’s nice to open windows at night and have to cuddle under the blanket in the morning. The heat of the day has been pleasant this weekend rather than oppressive. The north wind blowing in the front door brings with it a foreshadow of the winter chill.

Our DVR did overtime this weekend as Wendy and I tried to keep tabs on baseball, tennis and football. As the seasons change, they overlap and we found ourselves trying to decide which game or match got the priority. I’m totally in love with Wendy, who actually enjoys watching sports with me. Yet, she was on sports overload by Saturday night and I was right there with her.

On Saturday Taylor and Clayton came over and we moved a huge monster of a chair from our house to theirs. It reminded me of the hand-me-down furniture I received from my parents (and grandparents). Seasons change, and now we get the blessing of passing things along to Taylor & Madison.

On Sunday evening we attended the Parker’s big birthday bash. How much fun to help three J.P.s celebrate their big day in one big party.

Busy week ahead this week. Full day of meetings today. Business trip Tuesday through Thursday. Then, in another indicator of seasons’ change, we head to the lake for our final week-long visit of the year.
