Full Fall Weekend

It feels like forever since I posted. It was a very full weekend.

First, there was the heartbreak of the Cubs losing three straight to the Dodgers and ending the best chance they’ve had for a World Series win in decades. The curse lives. This is when true blue Cub fans show prove their metal. It’s about faith and hope for the long haul. Wait ’til next year! Wendy and I sat on the couch last night and felt a certain emptiness that the season was over. For over six months the Cubs have weaved their way into the tapestry of our daily lives. Now, we feel the missing thread. Ahhh well. Madison and I go to Minneapolis next Sunday to watch the Vikings play the Lions. I can officially turn all my attention and frustration to our favorite, but positively mediocre, football team.

I spent much of Saturday winterizing the house, sealing the roof, covering the air conditioner, and closing up and sealing windows. Then the temperature rocketed into the 80’s with more heat on tap for today. Murphy’s law.

Rehearsals and set construction for "Cheaper by the Dozen" continued.

I had to direct video for church yesterday morning.

Wendy, Madison and I drove up to Newton after church to meet up with Mom & Dad Hall to pick up some food from the Co-op and have a late lunch.

USP Board meeting was at our house last night. We absolutely love this group of people. As President, I’m supposed to lead the meeting, but the group was constantly out of control. How seven people can be carrying on four different conversations at the same time is beyond me.

Oh, and I worked pretty much any spare moment I didn’t have anything else I had to be doing 🙂

Now that the "restful" weekend is over it’s time to get busy with the week!
