Since the children are made of flesh and blood, it’s logical that the Savior took on flesh and blood in order to rescue them by his death. By embracing death, taking it into himself, he destroyed the Devil’s hold on death and freed all who cower through life, scared to death of death. Hebrews 2:14-15 (TM)
How awesome to know that I have a God who knows. Because Jesus lived on this Earth as one of us, He knows my grief, He knows my joy, He knows my struggle with appetites that would destroy me. More importantly, He knows suffering and the anticipation of Death. He knows the pain of my sin – it was placed on him when He died on the cross. The cool thing is – because He chose to ’embrace death’ – I am freed to ’embrace Life.’
