Chapter-a-Day Psalm 58

Trophies Everyone cheering, "It’s worth it to play by the rules! God’s handing out trophies and tending the earth!" Psalm 58:11 (TM)

"Nice guys finish last," they say, and I find that it’s often true. On the playground, in school, in politics, in sports and in the workplace, it seems that life favors those who push, cheat, buy or sleep their way to the top. Yet, Jesus was very clear about the fact that God’s economy operates quite differently. In God’s Kingdom "the last shall be first."

Hang in there. Keep pressing on.

  1. 1-2 Is this any way to run a country? Is there an honest politician in the house?
Behind the scenes you brew cauldrons of evil,
behind closed doors you make deals with demons.
It’s amazing that some days I feel no differently than they felt in the Old Testament. God gives this historical perspective to give us hope and peace. It’s like God told me this morning, “You think I haven’t observed this before?”. I’m thankful that reading God’s Word can keep me grounded when I am frustrated about the state of our politics.
