Chapter-a-Day Psalm 18

Sand_house Is there any god like God? Are we not at bedrock? Psalm 18:31 (TM)

I wonder if it was this psalm that prompted Jesus story about of the two men who built their houses – one on sand and the other on solid rock. The results were like night and day.

Bedrock – and we’re not talkin’ Fred Flinstone. We’re talking solid foundation on which you can build to the sky and know for certain that you will stand no matter what the elements throw at you. That’s good stuff!

  1. 30 What a God! His road
    stretches straight and smooth.
    Every God-direction is road-tested.
    Everyone who runs toward him
    Makes it.
I love the concept of something being road-tested. It implies that the kinks have been worked out, that there is little risk in going that direction. The next statement is also interesting. “Everyone who runs toward him makes it”. Sometimes we give more effort to communicate and reach out to God than others. Like in a race, we may tire or falter, but if we try we WILL make it. That is awesome!
