It seems like forever
since I last posted. Things have been crazy, and in the daily scramble my daily habit of blogging didn’t make the cut. The hectic schedule isn’t over, but I miss the routine of writing – so I’m making time for it this morning.
Wendy and I had a wonderful weekend in Minneapolis. I had to be up in the cities for business last week, so Wendy went with me and on Friday, after my last meeting, we drove downtown to meet up with our friends from Central College Theatre. Each semester Central takes a "cultural" weekend, so we joined in the fun.
On Friday night we saw an amazing production of Don Juan Giovanni at Theatre de la Jeune Lune. The company produced a thoughtful mixture of Moliere, Mozart and contemporary staging. On Saturday morning we had a back stage tour of the new Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis (see photo). In the afternoon it was a production of Huck Finn at the Minneapolis Children’s Theatre, and Saturday night we saw Doc Severinsen’s final bows as pops conductor for the Minnesota Orchestra. Of course, while we loved the productions, the highlight of the weekend was the good company, the good food, and the laughter.
